LEAR and DIDO Rehearsals Day 6

We’ve started the second week of rehearsals with all guns blazing. DIDO has come under our scrutiny today, as we’ve combined textual analysis with staging the opening quarter of the play. The day has been full of sex, puppets, love and confusion – and that’s just the warm up! Terrible joke aside, it has been riveting unearthing the seeds that Marlowe plants early on in the play, which later gain meaning through the course of events that follow. That was frustratingly vague of me I know, but I don’t want to give anything away! We have another day with DIDO tomorrow, and I think we’re all raring to get as much on its feet as possible and really start seeing the shape of the play and the world of Carthage.
