Tragedy of Mariam Rehearsals Day 8

Mariam rehearsals reached the end of their second week today and the pace and vitality of the piece are really starting to emerge.

Scenes and speeches which seem to go on forever on the page just whip by in performance and characters have their worlds turned upside down or torn to pieces in the space of a moment.

Classical plays are full of those moments. They can seem incredible; they are often the biggest challenge for actors and audiences, but those moments are almost always telling a deep truth as well.

Week three here we come…
