Shiv Rabheru

Give us your full name and the character you are playing.
My name is Shiv Rabheru. I am playing Hortensio.

Where in the world are you from?
I was born in Basingstoke in Hampshire.

What was your first theatrical experience, either on stage or in the auditorium?
I spent years as a kid performing musicals I had written myself in my lounge!…. they were awful… however my teddy bears made very generous audience members.

What’s the event in the play that you’re most excited about discovering?
I’m excited about the moment Katharina performs her last speech and to see how it affects a modern audience.

Who’s your favourite character, other than your own?
I think Tranio, because he seems to have a lot of fun fooling everyone in his disguise.

Tell us the title of your favourite play.
The Crucible by Arthur Miller.

Who is your theatrical inspiration?
Yael Farber – who directed The Crucible at the Old Vic.

If you had to choose, who is your favourite actor?
Viola Davis- she is sooooo powerful.
What’s your favourite festival experience?
I’ve actually never been to a festival but I really want to go to one! If anyone wants to take me to one get in contact 😉
